Mute swan flying over water

I took a walk from Kingston Bridge to Teddington Lock and back this afternoon. The light was fantastic and I got some great shots of the wildfowl.

Sadly, I can only choose one photo, so despite having some other great shots (which you can see at the Flickr set and include this gull flying under Kingston Bridgeand this pair of great-crested grebes looking over a jetty) I pick this one of a mute swan flying down the Thames.

It's the sort of shot I've wanted to capture for ages, and the light on the wings and water spray is just right.
